HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021!
2020 has been an awkward year to say the least, for all of us I am sure. Compared to the eventful 2019 with my participation in Voice of Finland and quite a lot of gigs, 2020 turned out to be very different. In early spring I started getting bookings and it looked like I could concentrate on gigs full time over the summer. Then came March and the cancellations started rolling in because of Covid-19. To be honest, I didn't have time to worry about it too much at that point, because I was focusing on my distance studies in chemistry. Around this time I recorded a version for Youtube of the song We are as One in cooperation with Swedish songwriters/producers Ylva and Linda Persson.
In April I was contacted by Simon and Sam at Colla Records, who asked if I was interested in cooperating with them and release some of my own songs. I thought it sounded exciting and like a good alternative, so after some negotiation we decided to release a full EP and at least one music video.
I managed to have a few gigs over the summer, in Pub Grönan and some private events, but overall it was very quiet. Instead I focused on writing songs. I had never been happy enough with my songs before, to actually finish them, but Colla Records encouraged me and convinced me that my songs were good enough. I spent a lot of time in the studio with Sam Sonntag and we produced a whole lot of tracks over a few months. I was happy to see that Sam totally got me and my style and I really liked how he brought my tracks to life.
I started thinking about what kind of artist I wanted to be, what I wanted to stand for, and realized that mental health is close to my heart. I contacted the national organisation for mental health, Mieli ry and asked if they were interested in cooperation. They referred me to their crisis center Valo. After further negotiation I am now the ambassador for the national digital crisis center Valo under Mieli. This means that I talk openly about my problems and encourage others to seek help if they feel really bad. I also repeatedly share information about Valo's services on my social media.

My debut single Few More Years was released on 25.9. Many Swedish speaking newspapers (eg Åbo Underrättelser, Västra Nyland) wrote about me and I was interviewed on a few radio shows. My song was on the Finland-Swedish top list Vegatoppen for a few weeks. I want to thank all the people who supported me and voted for me. During this time we also filmed a music video, and my music video for Few More Years came out 25.10.

My second single Nothing came out 20.11. With this song I was featured on YleX Nosteessa and was on their Spotify list Uuden musiikin X.
In the future I hope to be able to keep making my own music in my own style: moody pop. I have more music coming, so I hope my followers stay tuned and I hope I can reach even more people with my music. I would love to perform some of my own songs live for you.
All in all my debut as singer-songwriter and releasing my own music has gone better than expected. I still have a long way to go, but the response has been enough to show me that there might be a market for my work.
