NEW RELEASE: DON'T LEAVE 21.5.2021
‘When you have someone whom you really care for, the thought that they could ‘’up and vanish’’ at any given time is scary. In this song I talk about the feeling of comfort and safety we get from our relationships, whether it is real or perceived. In romantic relationships you might do everything you can to keep them happy and content in an effort to avoid the end. This person represents so much happiness that you’re afraid that the same person will disappear forever. Almost like dying you’ll never hear their voice, see their face, listen to their stories or get the chance to make them happy again.
I wrote this song after having a very important discussion with my partner. We’d been going through a hard time and this was a moment where we could open up, be honest and clear things up. I thought that this had brought us closer and with new hope for our relationship I wrote this song whilst reminiscing of our years together. Writing a song was also a way for me to calm my overwhelming emotions. However, while writing I got a gut feeling that he was going to leave. I felt like expressing it all in the song.’
Lyrics:
Don’t leave
cap 0
Vers 1:
Hands through your hair
So messy, didn’t think I would like that
You’re nothing like what I imagined
But you’re better than what I dreamed
The world it kind of fades out
and then it’s only us
It’s kind of scary
Chorus:
So
Don’t leave
I don’t think my heart could take it
I’ll bleed
All of my thoughts in to
Light screams
In hopes that you hear what I want
Don’t let me fall apart
Vers 2:
Hand in mine
some silence from us both but it feels fine
Start to feel my heart drum on my ribs
and I want you to pull me closer
The world it kind of fades out
and then it’s only us
It’s kind of scary
Chorus:
So
Don’t leave
I don’t think my heart could take it
I’ll bleed
All of my thoughts in to
Light screams
In hopes that you hear what I want
Don’t let me fall apart
